Fdn for The Carolinas

Charlotte, N.C.
http://www.fftc.org/

This grantmaker was established in 1958 as a "community" foundation to serve the Central Piedmont area of North and South Carolina. Accordingly, most of its grant monies are distributed to organizations in that geographic area.
Virtual Community Library. To create a central site where critical dialogue about the community is compiled, archived and disseminated. Everyday, in a variety of settings, authentic, thoughtful information is presented but goes unnoticed to the community at large - through sermons, lectures, civic club speeches, non-profit informational meetings, etc. This grant will help create a Virtual Community Library to aggregate and archive the data. The library will be a place for deep exploration to increase shared understanding of critical issues.
Grants: 1) Virtual Community Library, $50,000 beginning in 2009 with a KCI matching grant 2) Center for Public Integrity, $51,000 2006-09
