Transparency in journalism
In the blogosphere, openness is a matter of course

Transparency

Traditional journalism is often opaque in its practices, while bloggers and citizen journalists hold up transparency as one of the most important elements of the new media order. Why? What benefits does transparency bestow to online storytellers?  In this   5-minute video, we interview:

• Jimmy Wales, founder of Wikipedia (watch his full video interview)

• Jay Rosen, chairman of the journalism department at New York University, co-founder of NewAssignment.net and founder of the PressThink blog (watch his full video interview)

• Mary Hodder, CEO of Dabble, a Web 2.0 startup (watch her full video interview)

• Aaron Barlow, founder of ePluribus Media (hear his full audio interview)

"You can trust somebody ... when you see their range of emotions more than somebody who hides their emotions."
—Aaron Barlow
